Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive Releases 2006 Series DataAre you looking for the most up-to-date national substance abuse and mental health data? You will find it at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive (SAMHDA)! The 2006 data for the following series are now available. National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) NSDUH is the primary source of statistical information on the prevalence, incidence, and correlates of alcohol and drug use by the U.S. population. It is designed to produce national estimates and report the consequences and patterns of use and abuse. It also includes questions on mental health, access to care, and special topics asked of youth aged 12—17. National Survey on Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) N-SSATS is a component of SAMHSA's Drug and Alcohol Services Information System (DASIS), and provides the mechanism for quantifying the substance abuse treatment delivery system in the United States. Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) Another DASIS component, TEDS provides annual data on the number and characteristics of persons admitted to public and private substance abuse treatment programs. Data include substance(s) abused, route of administration, frequency of use, age of first use, client and treatment service characteristics, referral sources, and number of prior treatment episodes. MTF is a nationally representative sample of 8th- to 10th-grade and 12th-grade students. It is designed to quantify the direction and rate of change occurring over time and to explain observed relationships and trends. In addition to cigarette, alcohol, and drug use, it includes attitudes and beliefs, aspirations, income and employment, and recreation. SAMHDA is sponsored by the Office of Applied Studies, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. SAMHDA is located at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan. |
