OSHA schedules meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health

WASHINGTON -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has scheduled a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) for Sept. 11-12, 2008, in Washington, D.C. The ACCSH workgroups will meet on Sept. 9-10, 2008. The ACCSH and workgroup meetings will be held in Rooms N-3437A-D at the U.S. Department of Labor, Frances Perkins Building, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210. Notice of the ACCSH meeting appeared in the August 25 Federal Register.

The ACCSH meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 12. Following is a schedule of times for all ACCSH workgroups:
  • Multilingual - 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Sept. 9
  • Silica - 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Sept. 9
  • Diversity - 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Sept. 9
  • Residential Fall Protection - 1:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Sept. 9
  • Focused Inspection Initiative - 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Sept. 10
  • Trenching - 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Sept. 10
  • Rollover Protective Systems (ROPS) - 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Sept. 10
  • OSHA Training Institute (OTI) - 1:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Sept. 10
The committee advises the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health on the formulation of standards affecting the construction industry and on policy matters arising in the administration of the safety and health provisions of the Construction Safety Act, and the OSH Act of 1970.
