Public Debt's Strategic Plan
If you are curious about how Public Debt works and where we are going, you may find our strategic plan interesting. Over the next several years, we are planning to work on several major areas, including:
- adding new technology so that our customers can do more business with us on-line
- allowing owners of paper savings bonds to convert those paper bonds to electronic securities in TreasuryDirect
- making federal debt financial information clearer, more useful and more available; and
- reducing the operational cost of financing the public debt
