Get Adobe Reader
Adobe Reader (PDF) for viewing documents (.pdf)

The free Adobe Reader® is needed to open certain documents on this web site. You can download Acrobat Reader® from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Get Flash Player
Macromedia Flash Player® for viewing Flash movies (.swf)

Some portions of this site use the Macromedia Flash plug-in for visual effects, animation, interactivity (games). If you do not have the Flash player installed, all critical content on the site will still work. Flash players are available for free from Macromedia, and can be installed to enable the enhanced content.

If you're using IE on a Mac, the Flash movies will not be automatically displayed because the Flash player cannot detect in Internet Explorer on Macintosh computers. To see the Flash movies on a Mac, you may want to use another browser (for example; Netscape 4.5 or higher.)

If you would like to install Flash, or get more information about the Flash players, you can visit the download page at http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/.

QuickTime
QuickTime is software that enables your computer to play video and audio clips from the Internet. QuickTime 7 Player automatically determines your system's connection speed and chooses the highest quality stream for the amount of bandwidth you have available. And if you ever lose a connection while watching streaming video, QuickTime 7 Player automatically reconnects.

To install QuickTime 7.0, or to get more information about QuickTime consult: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Get Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player® for viewing and listening to audio and video files (including live broadcasts) (.asf, .asx, .avi, .wma, .wmv, .wm, .wpl, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp3, .mp4)

Films presented in .mpg format (pronounced "em-peg") are higher resolution and better quality than the equivalent RealMedia versions. To view films in the .mpg format, you should have a relatively high-speed computer (such as a Pentium 90 (or better) with a PCI or AGP graphics card and .mpg playback software, or a PowerMac with .mpg playback software). You can download Windows Media Player® for free from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/.

Get Windows Media Player
Windows Media® Components for QuickTime by Flip4MacTM (.mpg, .mpv, .avi, .wmv)

To watch some Windows Media videos on this site using a Mac, you will need the Windows Media Components for Quicktime by Flip4MacTM Player. You can download it for free from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/ flip4mac.mspx.

WaveForm (.wav)
Some sound recordings are presented in a higher-quality version, known as the .wav (WaveForm) format. These .wav formats must download completely before they can be played. Download time for .wav files is longer than for RealAudio.

Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 operating systems are equipped with a player that plays .wav files. Most newer web browsers for both Macintosh and Windows platforms have a built-in media player that will play .wav sound files.

For users with earlier browsers, please search the World Wide Web for free or inexpensive players that will play .wav files. (Helpful keywords for searching are ".wav audio player" or "audio helper application.")
