Houses the textual records of the National Child Labor Committee [catalog record ]. A few duplicate photographs remain with the textual reports found in the NCLC Records. Special Collections Holds a set of Lewis Hine's National Child Labor Committee photographs purchased from the NCLC. The collection includes 5,000 captioned photographic prints--some bearing notations in the photographer's hand--as well as some corresponding original film negatives. at George Eastman House Holds Lewis Hine's personal papers and photo collection, including nearly 4,000 negatives (most of them apparently not produced as part of Hine's work for the NCLC) and about 6,000 original and contact prints, from all stages of Hine's career. New York Public
Library Holds about 100 photographic prints relating to labor, housing and social conditions, ca. 1900-1937 and 47 photographs of the Empire State Building under construction, ca. 1931, in its Romana Javitz Collection. Also holds more than 400 photographs documenting social conditions, 1905-1939, transferred from the New York Public Library's U.S., Local History and Genealogy Division, and some smaller groups of Hine photographs.
New York Public Library Holds about 250 photographs relating to immigrants, primarily at Ellis Island, as well as a selection of the child labor photographs.
