FIRST FLIGHT CENTENNIAL® FOUNDATION REACHES FIRST MILESTONE IN LICENSING PROGRAM U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission Signs First Licensing Agreement C. Forbes, Inc. will produce Centennial of Flight commemorative items.

Washington, D.C.
May 15, 2002

With the Centennial of Flight celebration kick-off now less than one year away, the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission has entered into its first official trademark agreement with Richmond-based C. Forbes, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, C. Forbes, Inc. will have the right to license and use the Centennial of Flight Commission logo in connection with the design, manufacture, advertisement, promotion and sale of certain products created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first flight.

"Forbes has a reputation for finding the right item to capture the essence of the occasion," Sherry Foster, executive director of the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission, said. "The items the company produces will be a great way for aviation enthusiasts and the general public to remember the Centennial year."

C. Forbes, Inc. currently has plans for a Centennial of Flight coin, medallion and ornament, as well as other possible commemorative pieces.

"We have done commemorative items for a number of important milestones and significant events, including the inaugural medallion for President George W. Bush, the Bicentennial of the United States Military Academy and 20th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle flight," Chip Forbes, President of C. Forbes, Inc., said. "When we heard about the Centennial of Flight celebration it seemed like a natural fit for us."

The U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission is coordinating a national outreach campaign for the Centennial of Flight: Born of Dreams - Inspired by Freedom celebration, and advising
the President, Congress and federal agencies on the most effective ways to encourage and promote national and international participation in 2003. More information about the Commission can be found on the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission Web site at http://www.centennialofflight.gov/.
