Join Celebration for 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight.

The U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission has signed two new memorandums of agreement with organizations participating in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight in 2003. The Commission will provide outreach support to Aviation Specialty Resources, Inc. and Three Roads Communications, who will in turn help promote the Commission's national campaign, Centennial of Flight: Born of Dreams - Inspired by Freedom.
Aviation Specialty Resources, Inc. has created a moving museum, video and technological display to celebrate the accomplishments of the Wright brothers. Their Centennial Transporter will visit locations throughout the country from now until December 2003 and is expected to reach over 14 million people. (www.aviationspecialty.com/)
Three Roads Communications, Inc. produces the public television series Legends of Airpower, which details the lives of historic American aviators. Legends has been broadcast over 6,000 times on more than 230 stations in the U.S., and throughout the world on AFRTS. Three Roads is also producing a television documentary about Gus McLeod, the first person to fly an open cockpit plane to the North Pole, and his latest adventure - a solo circumnavigation of the Earth crossing both poles, in honor of the Centennial. The U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission was created by Congress to expand national and international interest in the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of powered flight, and will promote activities, such as those being planned by the Air Force, Aviation Specialty Resources, Inc. and Three Roads Communications, through a national awareness campaign, Centennial of Flight: Born of Dreams - Inspired by Freedom.
