shRNA Clone Library

The first shRNA clone release occurred in March 2004. These shRNAs were constructed in the pSHAG-MAGIC vector. Recent modifications have generated an improved pSHAG-MAGIC2c vector and, therefore, the entire first set of clones has been placed into this new vector backbone. The second release will contain targets to the original gene set, as well as, additional genes. The RNAi targets may be different from those in the first release due to the introduction of a new and improved algorithm to generate targets. The complete collection should be available by December 2007.

More info? For technical information about the library methods and vector used in library construction, please read shRNA Library Methods and shRNA Vector Map. For information about the design rationale behind the shRNA structure, please see shRNA Construct.
For additional background information about the shRNA project, please see Comments and References on RNAi Central, Greg Hannon's RNAi web site.
