POTC Virtual University
In an effort to expand electric power training opportunities while saving money on travel and training expenses,
Southwestern Power Administration has developed the Power Operations Training Center (POTC) Virtual University. The POTC Virtual University
offers over 100 online courses that cover topics from Basic Electricity to Power System Dynamics, and most courses are approved by the North
American Electric Reliability Corporation for Continuing Education Hours.
The following equipment is required to complete courses in the POTC Virtual University:
- IBM PC Compatible Computer (minimum 200 MHz processor with 32MB RAM)
- Sound Card with speakers or headphones
- SVGA (800x600) video card, driver, and monitor
- Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
- Internet connection (minimum 56Kbps recommended)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or greater (free download available)
- Macromedia Shockwave/Flash Player 7.0 (free download available)
