Event Title: Philly Blocks 2008
Description: The Institute for the Study of Civic Values will host Philly Blocks 2008. Hundreds of Philadelphians will gather to discuss community issues. State and City officials, candidates, agency representatives, CDCs, non-profits and citizens of every background will collaborate on violence, schools, the environment, homelessness and affordable housing, green initiatives and recycling and economic opportunities. The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and Philadelphia Citizen Corps will host a booth at this annual event to provide an opportunity to sign up for ReadyNotifyPA, and distribute Ready Philadelphia personal preparedness materials for severe storms, electrical and other utility outages, ReadyNotifyPA, Be Red Cross Ready and fire safety.
