Barber to Give Keynote Address on the Fate and Effects of Emerging Contaminants in the Environment

Dr. Larry B. Barber

U.S. Geological (USGS) scientist Dr. Larry B. Barber will be a keynote speaker at Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation’s (CSIRO) What's in Our Water: The significance of trace organic compounds, the 2nd Australian Symposium on Ecological Risk Assessment and Management of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs), Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) in the Australasian Environment, CSIRO Discovery Centre, Black Mountain, Canberra, Australia, November 21-22, 2007. Dr. Barber will speak on his research on the fate and effects of emerging contaminants, such as pharmaceuticals, EDCs, and organic wastewater contaminants in surface and ground water. The symposium is jointly organized by CSIRO Land and Water and The Australasian Society of Ecotoxicology (Special Interest Group on EDCs).
