Immediate Office of the Inspector General

Mission

The Immediate Office of the Inspector General (IOIG) is directly responsible for the overall fulfillment of the statutory mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), and for promoting effective management and quality of OIG processes and products. The office also plans, conducts, and participates in a variety of cooperative projects within the Department of Health and Human Services and with other government agencies relating to fraud, waste and abuse. The IOIG is also responsible for legislative and regulatory review.
