California Forest Practices Rules Analysis
As part of a Memorandum of Agreement between the National Marine Fisheries Service
(NMFS), Southwest Region and the State of California (State) on North Coast Steelhead
Trout, NMFS and the State agreed to conduct an analysis of the California Forest Practice
Rules (FPR). The purpose of this review, as described in the MOA, was to:
"jointly review the adequacy of existing California Forest Practice Rules,
including implementation and enforcement, to achieve properly functioning habitat
conditions."
The following document is the NMFS review of the FPRs to the State, and the State
response to NMFS analysis.
