Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant Program

Pre-Application Technical Assistance

Welcome to the SAMHSA/CMHS Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant Program!  We are extremely excited about this program and eager to provide whatever information we can about the Request for Applications (RFA) and the application process.  We also want your feedback about what type of pre-application technical assistance (TA) will be most helpful to you.

Our plans for pre-application TA are fourfold:

I. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

From the questions you submit by telephone or e-mail, we will develop a list of questions and answers (Q&As) and post them on this MHT SIG web page. We hope to have answers posted within four working days after we receive the questions.

II. Conference Calls

Every Thursday, beginning March 31, 2005, and going through May 5, 2005, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. EDT, staff from each of SAMHSA/CMHS' three Divisions will be available to discuss issues and answer questions related to the MHT SIG RFA and application process. It will help us use our time most efficiently if you will e-mail questions to Nancy Davis at nancy.davis@samhsa.hhs.gov, three days before the call.

We expect to begin the calls by discussing common issues raised by your questions, but we will also have time to respond to “live” questions.  The calls will be recorded and transcribed, and we will post the Q&As on our FAQ list.  Once again, we welcome your input about what format for the calls will be most helpful to you.

  • Conference Call Title: MENTAL HEALTH SIG
  • USA toll-free call-in number: 1-888-283-2182
  • Passcode: MENTAL HEALTH SIG
  • Leader: Nancy Davis

The Conference Call schedule is:

  • March 31, 2005
  • April 7, 2005
  • April 14, 2005

III.   Talk to a Live Person

As the RFA states, Dr. Nancy Davis (240-276-1866) is the person to call with questions about programmatic issues related to the application.  She will also collect and triage questions you submit to SAMHSA MHTSIG, nancy.davis@samhsa.hhs.gov.
