Miniature Wireless Smart H2 Leak Detector is able to detect the percent concentration of hydrogen in the presence of air or nitrogen and wirelessly send the results to a monitoring station or user display. The detector operates from a single lithium battery for continuous monitoring; the operating time is approximately 8 days. The detector has a power management system which can enable periodic monitoring (i.e. once every 60 seconds) and extend the battery life to over 1 year. The range of the wireless communications is typically about 30ft in a non-ideal installation and up to 1300 ft in an optimized installation. The detector has a self health check which monitor's the RF signal strength, the remaining battery life, the temperature of the electronics, and the sensing element's control parameters.
