Dear Colleagues:
We have been receiving lots of questions on the new evaluation plan or summary requirement this year. You will find attached a revised FAQ with new Qs and As on what we expect for internal evaluations, and for state commissions, how you can use formula, admin, and PDAT funds to support statewide evaluations.
If you are recompeting this year, please put your plan or summary in the new 10,000 character field that appears right after the Narrative, and before the Budget in eGrants. These plans need not be extensive or detailed. We expect summaries of 3-5 pages. Peer and staff reviewers will simply be looking for evidence that you have begun to plan for the evaluation that will be due in 2010.
If you have a plan or summary that is longer than this, please indicate this in the Evaluation Plan or Summary Field, and then send your Program Officer the longer plan as an attachment in e-mail.

Also note: the Project Star samples and templates are not intended to be used as templates for your submission in the Evaluation Plan and Summary field in eGrants, but as tools for your own internal planning.
