PROJECT DETAILS: This project will consist of grading and hot asphaltic concrete pavement on 7.21 miles of roadway (which includes 6.3 miles of previously constructed subgrade) for HI A-AD 6(5), State Route 200 – Saddle Road, in Hawaii County, Hawaii. Estimated price range is between $20,000,000.00 and $35,000,000.00.



Principal work items include: 7.3 miles of centerline re-establishment; 7.3 miles of grade finishing stakes; 10,000 m gallons of watering; 29,500 cu yds of embankment construction; 51,500 tons of grading E subbase; 164,000 sq yds of road reconditioning of previously constructed subgrade; 21,000 gallons of dust palliative; 14,300 tons of stockpiled aggregate; 1,810 tons of asphalt cement; 330 tons of antistrip additive; 26,600 tons of superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 77,600 tons of hot asphalt treated base course; 5,300 tons of asphalt binder; 141 tons of prime coast; 94 tons of tack coat; 37,800 ln ft of asphalt concrete curb; 37,300 ln ft of woven wire type fence; 25,900 sq yds of placing conserved topsoil; 17.4 acres of hydraulic mulching; 2,000 m gallons of water; 178,300 ln ft of solid parking markings (various widths); 2,000 hours of flagger; 1,300 temporary water filled barriers; all of the aforementioned along with associated sediment control, placed riprap, , pipe culvert, rental equipment, and hired services. A Government designated source of aggregate materials is located on Department of Army lands near to the project.



NOTE: This project is situated on access-restricted lands that are under the legal jurisdiction of the Department of the Army and the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources. Hazardous conditions may exist due to ongoing construction activities or military training. Unauthorized and unescorted access to the project site will not be permitted. A schedule for escorted tours to inspect the project site and quarry area will be included in the Invitation for Bid.
