Delta Airlines-MCI Airport Customer Service Achieves OSHA Recognition
Ceremony To Be Held March 9 in Kansas City, Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Delta Airlines-MCI Airport Customer Service has earned membership in the prestigious "Star" Voluntary Protection Program of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). A recognition ceremony is scheduled Wednesday, March 9.

"Delta Airlines-MCI Airport Customer Service has exhibited excellence in effective safety and health management at its Kansas City airport facility," said Kansas City OSHA Regional Administrator Charles E. Adkins, CIH. "Their outstanding efforts have included impressive hazard reporting and employee involvement programs."

The facility employs 47 workers who provide customer ticket counter and gate service. Companies that have been accepted into the Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) represent more than 200 industries.

The VPP recognizes and promotes effective workplace safety and health management. Companies in the Voluntary Protection Programs achieve average injury rates 50 percent lower than other companies in their industry. From coast to coast, approximately 1,200 work sites participate in the program.
