State Service Plans and ACSI Survey

Colleagues:

State Service Plans

This is a reminder that the deadline for State Service Plan submission is coming up soon--September 18. If you would like feedback on a draft plan, please contact your program officer.

If you haven’t completed your plan yet, we suggest that you try and be as specific as possible in describing your plan’s collaborative activities, and about requests for training and technical assistance to help implement your plan. Some things you might want to include in your plan (but it’s up to you) are included below to help stimulate your thinking:

  • Do more of your programs have a rural or urban emphasis?
  • Who are your primary collaborators: Senior Corps, VISTA, NCCC, Volunteer Centers, Campus Compact, SEAs, NDs, United Ways, community foundations, statewide associations, VOADs, etc.
  • Is your state going to focus on one or more of the Corporation’s strategic initiatives: youth, boomers, higher ed, volunteer leveraging,
  • Will your plan have other kinds of programmatic emphases, such as: disaster response/preparedness, faith based, children of prisoners, mentoring, etc.?
  • Are you planning activities for MLK Day?
  • What will you be doing re: disability outreach?
  • Will you plan have a connection to your state government’s (governor/legislators) priorities/initiatives?

We're looking forward to reviewing your Plan!

American Customer Satisfaction Index

On June 26, 2006, you  received an invitation to complete a web-based customer satisfaction survey for the AmeriCorps State and National Program, called the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The responses provided will offer us information about your level of satisfaction with our programs and operations, while guiding us toward specific areas for program improvement. We have contracted with the CFI Group to manage the survey on our behalf.

Survey participation is voluntary and answers provided are confidential. Note that the person listed as the contact for the survey may designate anyone else to complete the survey on their behalf.

For those who have not yet responded to the survey, please take into consideration the surveying period will end in a couple of weeks, and we look to you for continued assistance. If you have not had an opportunity to participate and need to gain access to the survey instrument, and/or encounter any technical difficulties; please contact Kristine Scholl of the CFI Group at, KScholl@cfigroup.com .  Also, if you would like to contact someone at the Corporation for National and Community Service to discuss the survey, please contact Brooke Nicholas at BNicholas@cns.gov .

Thank you in advance for your participation, and your commitment to volunteerism.
