Sandia made significant progress in FY07 removing its category 1 and 2 special nuclear material (SNM), as seven of the ten identified SNM groups have been shipped off-site. The materials include Sandia Pulsed Reactor reactor plates, sodium experimental debris, calibration sources, and other material. The completed milestones included approvals for material packages, acceptance agreements, criticality safety analyses, procedural development, and quality assurance support to meet Sandia’s integrated safety management and security requirements for shipment authorization.
