Court Records Available via NARA's Order Online!
System Beginning June 26, 2006

Beginning June 26, 2006 customers will be able to order copies of Court Records from a NARA Federal Records Center using Order Online!, the National Archives' online ordering web site. Order Online! provides an easy and convenient method for customers to request reproductions of certain records and pay for these orders with most major credit cards.

What Court Records are available?

Customers can select from Bankruptcy, Court of Appeals, Criminal, and Civil case files from the Federal courts. Package options for Court Records include Entire Case Files, Pre-Selected Documents, and Docket Sheets.

What are the benefits of Order Online!?

  • Customers can order through the Internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year using a web browser on any computer.
  • "Smart forms" provide guidance for completing the online request.
  • Customers may establish and manage an Order Online! personal account, storing their information for future orders and enabling them to check their order status online.

Court Records available through Order Online! include those physically stored at a NARA Federal Records Center, but in the legal custody of the U.S. Court System. Court Records retired to a Regional Archives are in the legal custody of NARA. To research a Court Record in the custody of a NARA Regional Archives, please visit http://www.archives.gov/locations/regional-archives.html
