NASA is taking bold steps to realize its Mission to "inspire the next generation of explorers." Building on previous accomplishments, NASA has established the following strategic initiatives for education:

• NASA Educator Astronaut Program
• NASA Explorer Schools
• NASA Explorer Institutes

These "pathfinder" initiatives, now in the early stages of implementation, are designed to stimulate student, educator, and public interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through NASA-sponsored educational opportunities.
