In September 1964 the Social Security Administration published a lavishly-illustrated history of the Social Security program. Entitled "Social Security U.S.A.-- The Program and its Adminstration," this 24-page booklet is an excellent snapshot of the history of the program up to that time, as well as providing an overview of some of the main aspects of SSA's administration of the program.
