In the late 1980s the incumbent SSA Historian, Sid Leibovitz, created a set of organizational histories of SSA. In one portion of that collection, he created a massive graphic detailed the changes in Regional Office alignments over the decades from the earliest structure in 1936 (which had 14 Regional Offices) to the present one (which has 10). In addition, Sid Leibovitz collected photographs of some of the major Regional officials associated with those various Regional Offices. The data was current as of June 1989.
