STATEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL PROGRAM OFFICE

Washington, D.C. - The RCFL National Program Office applauds the officers assigned to the North Texas Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory (NTRCFL) who were presented with an FBI Certificate of Commendation signed by FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III. Guadalupe Gonzalez, Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Division, presented the awards during a special ceremony on September 9, 2002.

The commendation is attributed to the work of the NTRCFL examiners and personnel over the past two years where they have supported investigations into numerous cases of national and local importance including the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon.

Many of the examiners who received the commendation have seen the RCFL transition from being a concept to a cutting-edge computer forensics laboratory. Because the NTRCFL has steadily grown since they began operations in 2001, the facility will soon move to a larger space and will add additional personnel to address the increasing demand by law enforcement for computer forensic capabilities in the North Texas area.
