MICHAEL R. NOWAK
President and Chief Executive Officer, Coating Excellence International

Michael R. Nowak (Mike) is the 51 year old President, co-Founder, and co-owner of Coating Excellence International (CEI). Founded in 1997, CEI has grown into a $90 million company in 7 years. Coating Excellence International is a market leader in specialized high quality extrusion coating and printing operation located in the Wrightstown industrial park. CEI produces products for a wide range of markets, including ream wrap, flexible packaging, industrial packaging and release products.

Coating Excellence was the 2003 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year, awarded in February 2004. Coating Excellence currently is expanding its Wrightstown facility, adding capacity and 70 new jobs. Current employment is over 200 employees.

Mike was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from West Allis Central High School. Mike received a BA in economics from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a MBA in finance, accounting, and international business from the University of Chicago - Graduate School of Business. Prior to founding CEI Mike worked for International Paper, Philip Morris, and Ford Motor Company. Mike’s positions included Sales and Marketing Manager, Group Controller, Acquisitions Manager, and International Financial Analyst. Mike is married (wife Carol), and has four grown children (3 sons, 1 daughter) and three grand children. All his children are married. Mike is a Board member of the American Forest and Paper Association Specialty Industrial Papers Division.
