Document Viewers

All of the documentation included on this web site has been created in either Microsoft® Office document format for Windows, or in Adobe® .PDF format. In order to open and read the files included on this site you must either have one of the following Windows software applications installed on your computer OR you can install an approved document viewer created by either Microsoft® corporation or Adobe®: MS Word 97/2000/XP, MS Excel 97/2000/XP, or MS Powerpoint 97/2000/XP (as appropriate).

In the case of the MS Office viewers on this site, a document viewer is NOT the same thing as the fully-featured version of the MS Office product. It is a freeware product that allows you to view and print Microsoft Word 2000/XP®, Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP®, and Microsoft Powerpoint 97/2000/XP® documents. You cannot edit an open document using an MS Office Viewer, but you can copy text to the Clipboard to paste it in other applications. Microsoft encourages the distribution of the MS Office Viewers to people who do not have the MS Office products installed on their workstations.

The Adobe® PDF viewer is free software that lets you view and print Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open standard for electronic document distribution worldwide. Adobe® PDF is a universal file format that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics, and color of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Adobe® PDF files can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as intended by anyone with free Adobe® Acrobat Reader software.
