*Reporting Requirements & Acknowledgment Statements

SSRL submits several annual reports to the Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health which require up-to-date publications listings. These publications lists are extremely important in presenting our scientific achievements and productivity, and thus funding case to these agencies. Users and staff are asked to submit two copies of each publication or thesis based, fully or partially, on work at SSRL to the attention of Lisa Dunn. A reference submittal form is available for users and staff to provide reference information in advance of the article publication.

Additionally, as members of the SLAC community, SSRL staff scientists have the responsibility for ensuring that any manuscript based on research conducted at SLAC which has been (or will be) submitted for publication outside of SLAC is also published as a SLAC Publication. Several help pages are available through SLAC TechPubs to help authors meet reporting requirements.

*Referencing SSRL:

All publications related to work fully or partially undertaken at SSRL should contain one of the following acknowledgements.

(a)  X-ray absorption spectroscopy users, (biology, materials science, molecular environmental sciences, and chemistry users) and biological small-angle x-ray scattering users should use:

"Portions of this research were carried out at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource, a national user facility operated by Stanford University on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Energy Sciences. The SSRL Structural Molecular Biology Program is supported by the Department of Energy, Office of Biological and Environmental Research, and by the National Institutes of Health, National Center for Research Resources, Biomedical Technology Program."

(b)  Macromolecular crystallography users should use:

"Portions of this research were carried out at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource, a national user facility operated by Stanford University on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Energy Sciences. The SSRL Structural Molecular Biology Program is supported by the Department of Energy, Office of Biological and Environmental Research, and by the National Institutes of Health, National Center for Research Resources, Biomedical Technology Program, and the National Institute of General Medical Sciences."

(c)   All other users should use:
