Assistant/Associate Professor in Health Policy/Health Advocacy - West Chester University of Pennsylvania

Primary teaching assignments include courses in Health Policy, Health Advocacy, Health Law, and Ethics with additional teaching assignments in the areas of Health Administration and Health Care Delivery. The Department of Health, College of Health Sciences at West Chester University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track Public Health Faculty appointment as an Assistant/Associate Professor in Health Advocacy/Health Policy, starting August 25, 2008 to teach in a CEPH-accredited MPH program with additional responsibility to teach undergraduate courses. Previous applicants for this position should not reapply.

Responsibilities:
Primary teaching assignments include courses in Health Policy, Health Advocacy, Health Law, and Ethics with additional teaching assignments in the areas of Health Administration and Health Care Delivery. Additionally, candidates are expected to participate in recruitment efforts for the graduate program in Health Care Administration, engage in scholarship that leads to peer-reviewed presentations and publications, serve on departmental, school and university committees, serve in the community setting, and advise students.

Requirements:

  • ABD in public health or health related discipline by start date of August 2008.
  • Significant graduate coursework or experience in Health Policy and/or Health Advocacy.

Finalists must successfully complete an on-campus interview and both a teaching and research presentation. References with contact information will be required prior to interview.

Preferences:

  • Doctoral degree in the areas of Health Policy.
  • Possession of a Master’s of Public Health.
  • Minimum three years of professional public health or health-related work experience.
  • Evidence of teaching above-indicated courses at college/university level.
