TRAINING ON NEW OSHA RECORDKEEPING RULES
TO BE HELD IN BOISE, IDAHO

SEATTLE - The U.S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration will provide free training on the revised occupational injury and illness recordkeeping rule on Dec. 12, 2001, at Boise State University's Special Events Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in Boise, Idaho. The Special Events Center is located next to the Student Union Building, 1910 University Drive.

OSHA's new rule for recording injuries and illnesses takes effect Jan. 1, 2002, and will affect more than a million U.S. establishments. The revision to OSHA's rule is designed to improve the quality and consistency of injury and illness data while simplifying the system for employers. The new rule will also improve employee involvement and protect the privacy of the injured or ill worker.

Participants will be trained, via live satellite broadcast, in the recordkeeping, posting and reporting requirements of OSHA's revised rule; who is covered by the revised rule; and, how to complete OSHA illness and injury forms accurately. OSHA representatives will be present to answer questions.

For additional information, please contact Van Howell at (208) 321-2960. Information on OSHA's recordkeeping rules is also available on OSHA's website at www.osha.gov.
