Scheduled for August 11-15 in Naperville, Ill. CHICAGO -- Information to help employers and employees with safety and health issues ranging from ergonomics to machine guarding will be available at the 15th Annual Chicagoland Safety and Health Conference on Northern Illinois University's campus in Naperville, Ill., August 11-15. Safety and health professionals will present information related to general industry, construction and environmental safety. The conference is for employers, employees, union representatives, and others interested in safety and health. Topics such as construction and general industry safety, environmental safety, machine guarding, bio-terrorism, recordkeeping, and effective safety management and training techniques will be covered during more than 50 sessions. The OSHA General Industry 10-hour course will be offered during the first two days of the conference. "Our goal is to do everything we can to help employers and workers prevent job injuries and illnesses by making their workplaces safer," said Michael G. Connors, OSHA's regional administrator in Chicago. The conference will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the NIU-Naperville campus, 1120 East Diehl Road, Naperville.
