Detailed Forecast Discussion |
Monday, September 15: A surface low-pressure system northeast of the Mahoning Valley will produce moderate to strong northwesterly winds that will disperse pollutants. In addition, mostly cloudy skies will limit ozone formation. As a result, AQI levels will be Good. Tuesday, September 16: Partly cloudy skies will limit ozone formation. Furthermore, moderate west to northwesterly winds will disperse pollutants, leading to Good AQI levels. Wednesday, despite mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures enhancing ozone formation, moderate westerly winds will disperse pollutants. These winds, combined with low pollutant carryover from previous days, will cause AQI levels to be Good. Thursday, surface high pressure over the Great Lakes region will produce moderate northerly winds in Youngstown, dispersing pollutants and leading to Good AQI levels. Friday and Saturday, moderate southerly winds will transport moisture and pollutants into the region. In addition, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone formation. These conditions will result in Moderate AQI levels on both days. |
