Fantastic Molecular Voyage Into Genome Instability

Kyungjae Myung, Ph.D. Kyungjae Myung, Ph.D. won't just tell you about unstable genomes, he'll show you one. He studies genome instability, which is both a characteristic of and, in some cases, a trigger for many genetic diseases, including cancer. Dr. Myung's interest in the field was piqued by trying to understand how cells repair DNA damage caused by ultraviolet radiation.

ENCODE Consortia Draft Data Release Policy 2008

ENCODE LogoThe draft data release plan for the ENCODE (ENCyclopedia Of DNA Elements) and model organism ENCODE (modENCODE) projects is now available for public review and feedback. As the plan is intended to take into account the needs and responsibilities of the resource users, NHGRI is offering the research community an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposal before the plan is finalized.  Comments on the plan should be sent to Encode@mail.nih.gov by Wednesday, October 15, 2008.
