Abstract

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) was organized to use the power of the law to protect the rights of nonsmokers. Emphasis is placed on legal efforts to protect nonsmokers and to get courts to support the rights of nonsmokers. ASH also conducts educational and awareness campaigns regarding the problem of smoking and the rights of nonsmokers. Special reports prepared by ASH have included coverage of the economics of employees' smoking, the addiction to nicotine, and a comprehensive compilation of State and local legislation relating to the rights of nonsmokers.

Publications

Serial publication: ASH Smoking and Health Review, bimonthly--contains information on the initiation and progress of proposed legal action and legislation relating to the rights of nonsmokers or other aspects of smoking, the problems of smoking for smokers and nonsmokers, and court cases relating to smoking and the rights of nonsmokers.
