Abstract

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is responsible for promoting the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities. ACF brings together in one organization a broad range of Federal programs that include Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Child Care, Head Start, Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities, Family Preservation and Support, Child Welfare, Foster Care and Adoption, Child Abuse and Neglect, Developmental Disabilities, Native American programs, as well as Low Income Home Energy Assistance, Social Services and Community Services Block Grants, and Refugee Assistance. A brochure on ACF, as well as fact sheets, are available.

Publications

Serial publications: Children Today (magazine), Child Support Report, Head Start Bulletin, and Child Care Bulletin--For State and local social service agencies, policy makers, educators, and the general public.
