Rose Lake Plant Materials CenterEstablished 1958

The Rose Lake Plant Materials Center in East Lansing, Michigan provides plant solutions for the Great Lakes Region. The Center has developed technology for a variety of conservation concerns including stabilization of streambanks, shorelines, and roadbanks; improving pasture land; and increasing the availability and use of local native species. The Center has released improved conservation varieties of big bluestem, little bluestem, silky dogwood, hybrid crabapple, switchgrass and indiangrass.
