"The buzz about plants and their pollinators"

Pollinator Week is June 22-28, 2008. Be a part of this year’s events by joining us at the National Plant Materials Center on June 26 for tours and exhibits. Find out what the Natural Resources Conservation Service and its partners are doing to support pollinators in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed!



Highlights for the day:

  • New wildflowers and legumes for Maryland Conservation Cover plantings.
  • Tips and information on how homeowners can enhance their backyards.
  • A sampling of the bounty from pollinators.
 

Details

  • Where: USDA-NRCS, National Plant Materials Center, Beltsville, MD
  • When: Thursday, June 26, 2008, 9:00 am to NOON
  • Who: Conservation partners, scientists, homeowners, farmers and any others who are interested are invited to this event.
  • Why: NRCS Plant Materials Centers are critical to providing conservation plants and technology for supporting pollinators. Find out more about these activities and how USDA, NRCS and other conservation partners enhance pollinator habitat.
  • Details: Sign-in begins at 8:45 am. There will be brief comments by agriculture and conservation leaders at 9:00 am followed by a field tour of the National Plant Materials Center, exhibits and refreshments.
