Habitat restoration involves species selection, knowledge of plant characteristics, and knowledge of propagation and establishment techniques, and PLANTS can help with all these activities. Use the Advanced Search for species selection by distribution, nativity, growth habit, and legal status (among other search criteria). Then learn more about selected plants from their Characteristics (available for over 2500 species) or their Plant Fact Sheets and Plant Guides. Soon you will be able to search NRCS Plant Material publications using standard bibliographic criteria, and download the publications that interest you.
