CURRENT DIRECTOR OF DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY TO RETIRE


ARLINGTON, VA., March 11, 2008 – Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Director Lt. Gen. Charles E. Croom Jr. announced today that the U.S. Air Force has approved his retirement. Lt. Gen. Croom has served as the director of DISA and the commander of the Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO) since July 2005.

DISA’s current vice director, Navy Rear Adm. Elizabeth A. Hight has been nominated by the president for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as the new director of DISA and commander of the JTF-GNO. The nomination is still pending approval.

The retirement ceremony and change of command is planned to take place in July 2008.
