DISA ACQUISITION EXECUTIVE TO RETIRE IN JANUARY 2008

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 3, 2007 – Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Director Lt. Gen. Charles E. Croom Jr. announced today that DISA Component Acquisition Executive Diann L. McCoy will retire from federal service on January 3, 2008. McCoy has served as head of DISA’s acquisition operation for the past five years.

A Kansas City native, McCoy grew up in Dayton, Ohio and her career ranged from California to Alabama, from the Air Force to the National Communications System; and from working as a student aide to the Senior Executive Service.

McCoy was first assigned the additional responsibility as DISA’s Component Acquisition Executive in August, 2002.  The position, designed to accelerate implementation of the best processes and procedures, became a permanent part of the DISA business model in October, 2003.

General Croom praised Ms. McCoy by saying she is “highly respected in all circles for her expertise, leadership, wisdom and grace. Diann will be truly missed but we join in celebrating her exceptional career of service to our nation.”

McCoy’s awards include the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, the Technology Award for Government Leadership, the DoD Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the Meritorious Civilian Service Award; and the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive Award.

Tony Montemarano, DISA’s Director of Information Assurance and Network Operations, has been selected to be the Component Acquisition Executive upon Ms. McCoy's retirement.
