GAO reviewed the Department of Transportation's (DOT) new rule on procedures for compensation of air carriers. GAO noted that: (1) the new rule would establish application procedures for air carriers interested in requesting compensation under the Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act, and (2) DOT complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
