Great American Cleanup Kickoff In New York City
Desiree T. Sayle, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps, delivered remarks on March 21 at the New York City kickoff event for the 21st Annual Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup.
As part of the event, Sayle presented the President's Volunteer Service Award to two outstanding volunteers from the New York City area – Carl Berner, a 104-year-old environmental steward, and Raymart Dinglas, a high schooler who focuses on recycling efforts.

President Bush Highlights the Volunteer Message
During a Q & A session in Wheeling, WV on March 22, President Bush spoke of the importance of volunteer service: "It is a vital part of our society and our communities, the idea of people volunteering to help a neighbor in need." The President also referenced the USA Freedom Corps Greeter program and the President's Volunteer Service Award.
