The USGS Ohio Water Science Center (Ohio WSC) has been working with State and local agencies and academia to strengthen the science of beach monitoring.  Projects have involved the development and testing of predictive models for recreational water quality, testing of improved monitoring methods including rapid analytical methods for E. coli and enterococci, and identifying sources of fecal contamination to beaches.
