Rationale

Many NHGRI sequencing projects that are approved within the context of a particular program rationale do not fit easily within one of the categories defined by the outlined initiatives. These projects answer a diverse set of scientific questions that relate to human health and biology. Although individual species projects are diverse, they each are guided by the general aims of the Annotation the Human Genome or Comparative Genome Evolution program.
