Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Cancer Genetics

Department of Health and Human Services
National Institutes of Health
National Human Genome Research Institute

The Reproductive Cancer Genetics Section, Cancer Genetics Branch of the National Human Genome Research Institute is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to investigate the molecular and genetic alterations underlying human tumorigenesis. The lab is particularly interested in the basis of human endometrial (uterine) cancer. Experimental approaches include, but are not limited to array-CGH, high-throughput sequencing, expression profiling and traditional molecular biology techniques.

The intramural research program is located on the Bethesda campus and offers a wide array of training opportunities for scientists early in their careers. The funding for this position is stable and offers the trainee wide latitude in the design and pursuit of their research questions. Access to extensive core facilities including a transgenic mouse core facility, human clinical-translational research at the NIH clinical center and others, allows a postdoc to accomplish a great deal in a short time. The Washington D.C. area provides innumerable opportunities for cultural enrichment as well.

Candidates must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree awarded within the past three years, a record of relevant peer-reviewed publications, a solid command of English with the ability to speak and write effectively and must be self-motivated to work independently.

Applications for this position are ongoing with a rolling deadline. To apply, go NIH Research and Training Opportunities or send by mail or e-mail a CV, cover letter, a brief statement of research interests, and the names and telephone numbers of three references to:
