The Division of Intramural Research 10th Anniversary Celebration

From Base Pairs to Bedside: December 5, 2003

The year 2003 marked a very special occasion for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI): the tenth ;anniversary of our Division of Intramural Research (DIR). To celebrate this event, a day-long scientific symposium entitled: From Base Pairs to Bedside was held on Friday, December 5, 2003.

The program for the day included presentations from current and past faculty as well as from collaborators. The special highlight of the symposium was the first annual Jeffrey M. Trent Lecture in Cancer Research, which was presented by Dr. Janet Rowley of the University of Chicago.

Many scientists, researchers and friends joined in celebrating the many accomplishments that DIR has achieved over the last ten years, as well as looking to the spectacular opportunities DIR will face in genetics and genomics.
