Strategic Planning - Operations Consolidation

Western's senior managers decided Operations consolidation will make the organization more efficient and will minimize future costs due to increasing work requirements associated with FERC's open access transmission and electric reliability standard requirements. Western presented its revised Operations Consolidation proposal to customers on April 24. Through careful consideration of the comments and the extensive research and analysis by staff, Western is moving forward with Option C (consolidating operations with the Rocky Mountain and Desert Southwest regions serving as alternative control centers for each other) of the proposal. Western believes that by moving forward with Option C, we will maximize our resources and staff to better serve customers.
