Required documentation - Summary description
1. What is being nominated? Please be specific. Is it a restoration, renovation, rehabilitation, program, initiative, etc.?
If it is a governmental project, program, or activity, it must go beyond the scope of the agency’s core mission as required by law, for example, Section 110 of the NHPA.
3. Follow the order in which the criteria are listed in the Guidelines. Be specific and give examples, facts, and figures to support your assertions—for instance, visitation figures, retail data, tax figures or percentages, demonstrated revitalization, specific preservation or conservation achievements, or evidence of increased civic involvement. Describe significant outcomes. Document the promotion of heritage tourism or economic vitality in the community.
8. For cyclical or ongoing projects or programs, the nominee must show significant advancement or substantive change within the 5-year timeframe; that is, during 2003-2007.
Images
Include a CD containing the images at a resolution of 300 dpi or 1200 x 1800 pixels (minimum for publication quality), as well as a text file with captions and credit information. Photographs 4” x 6” or larger are acceptable. Photocopies are not acceptable.
Optional documentation
Optional documentation is an opportunity to show the breadth of a project or program. For example, supplemental items may include news clippings, brochures, reports, guidebooks, maps, DVDs, photo books, etc.
