2007 Proposed Rule
On November 19, 2007, the Corporation published a proposed rule for AmeriCorps State and National in the Federal Register. This proposed rule includes technical fixes to, minor changes in, or codification of long-standing policies pertaining to member evaluations, performance measurement, national service insignia, false or misleading statements, Inspector General access to grantee records, state service plans, the definition of participant, prohibited activities, living allowance disbursement, living allowance waiver, civil rights, state commission membership, prohibition of split funded project, and the small state minimum and timeframe for formula requests.
We benefited greatly from the input we received in developing the proposed rule. The Corporation is keenly interested in your views concerning this proposed rule, so we encourage you to closely review its substance, and if you decide to submit any comment(s), please clearly identify the specific section or sections of the proposed rule that your comment addresses. The publication of this proposed rule begins a 60-day public comment period which ends on January 19, 2008. 2005 AmeriCorps Rulemaking
After extensive public input and a unanimous vote of the board of directors, the Corporation issued a new AmeriCorps rule on July 8, 2005. The new rule will make AmeriCorps stronger, more effective, and more competitive, while also ensuring greater leveraging of Federal dollars and recognizing the diverse nature of our grantees.
