Non-Federal Website: This database from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School was constructed in a purely automated manner, using a set of heuristics to identify acronyms/abbreviations and their definitions within MEDLINE records. It contains approximately 257,000 out of an estimated 277,000 unique acronyms within MEDLINE.
